Ayurvedic Remedies to Cure Dandruff
Dandruff is the white flaky substance brushing off from our scalp and we can notice it on our shoulder or when we closely observe our scalp. This white flaky substance can be itchy. It can increase due to stress or because of the flu as well. There are tremendous products available in the market to get rid of dandruff. But it might not be necessary that all of them might suit an individual. Therefore many people prefer to go the herbal way. 1. Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple Cider Vinegar or ACV is one of the healthiest ingredients to cure dandruff. It is helpful to cease the growth of dandruff-causing bacteria on the scalp and reduce the amount of shredding of flaky skin. It also helps to nourish the scalp which is one of the vital aspects to stop dandruff. People also prefer to use normal white vinegar to serve the purpose. It can be simply used by mixing equal parts of ACV and water. Rinse the hair with this mixture and leave it for about 30 to 40 minutes. Later wash the hair with a herbal shampoo.
One of the best available natural ingredients to cure dandruff includes neem. This herbal ingredient is full of antibacterial and anti-fungal properties that do not allow dandruff-causing bacteria to grow on the scalp. Neem can be used in various forms to cure dandruff. For instance, it can be used in the form of neem oil, a homemade neem hair pack, or even as a conditioner.
A simple neem hair pack can be prepared by mixing a few leaves of neem with curd and preparing a paste-like consistency. Apply this paste on your hair and scalp and leave it to work for about 15 to 20 minutes. Later wash off the pack with the help of a mild shampoo. The anti-fungal properties of neem and cooling effect of curd work magically for the hair and our hair is dandruff free naturally.
3. Tea Tree Oil
Tea Tree Oil is another nature's gift to cure dandruff. This exceptional oil has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties too. This essential oil helps to soothe the scalp and reduce the itchiness caused due to dandruff. It can also be used in various forms. Tea tree oil can be mixed in the shampoo and applied on the hair and scalp to wash it. It can also be diluted in water and can be used as a good natural rinse for the hair. Tea tree oil helps to reduce the growth of bacteria on the scalp which reduces dandruff and the visible flakes.
Though it might sound smelly and weird that's true, garlic helps one to cure dandruff too. This heart health-friendly ingredient has anti-bacterial properties which is one of the best ways to cure dandruff. Many people might not be comfortable with the ingredient to apply it on their scalp but its medicinal properties may make you inclined for it. One can crush 1 or 2 cloves of garlic and mix it with water. Rub this water on the scalp for best results. One might not like the smell of garlic so to camouflage it one can use honey which is another hair-friendly ingredient as well.
5. Aloe Vera
'One ingredient with multiple uses', aloe vera can be termed off. Aloe vera has multiple uses because of its cooling, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal properties. This cooling and soothing ingredient can be used either freshly by scrapping it out from its leaves or by using the aloe vera gel available in the market. This healthy ingredient can be directly rubbed on the scalp and then wash it off after 30 minutes for healing, soothing and dandruff free results.
