Honey, also known as 'Liquid Gold' according to Ayurveda is one of the healthiest gifts of nature. This liquid sweet is healthy for our body internally as well as externally. Honey is one of the best ingredients to detoxify our bodies. It is also the most picked component to make homemade face packs and face masks. People also use honey as a natural sweetener. It is the best and highly used replacement of sugar. The more the honey is pure the more beneficial it is for the body. There are also various other benefits of this liquid gold, let us have a dig:

  1. Full of Antioxidants

After fruits and vegetables, one can have a look for honey for a pure source of antioxidants. Honey also helps to fight back free radicals which are the major source for ageing. Therefore it is always advised to add honey in the first glass of lukewarm water of the morning to flush out all the harmful toxins from the body. Research also shows that honey can limit the excess production of cancerous cells and protect one from the hazardous disease.

Though it might sound weird and sceptical it's true, honey can be used to heal wounds and burns too. The antiseptic and anti-bacterial property of honey aids to cure a wound or burnt skin. While working in the kitchen if you burn yourself accidentally then you can apply a little honey on the burnt area to heal the burning sensation and ease it immediately.

Honey has cooling properties that help to lower the acid reflux in our digestive system. Therefore honey is one of the best digestive components. One can have a spoon of honey after completing a meal for better digestion. Proper digestion also helps to prevent stomach problems like diarrhoea, constipation, vomiting, and many such issues. Honey is also helpful to cure hyperacidity and its symptoms like a burning sensation felt in the throat, stomach pain, and vomiting.

Simply applying honey on the face can work wonders too for our skin.
