An Ideal Ayurvedic Daily Hair Care Routine

Healthy hair is as important for an individual just as a healthy body or healthy skin. But due to today's environmental problems and the people of the surroundings have to face various hair problems. Just as our skin faces many issues in the same way people face hair issues as well.

Hair fall, dandruff, dry hair, damaged hair, and there are many hair problems an individual has to face if one does not follow daily hair care routine at home. Hence following a daily hair care routine for healthy hair is essential to maintain the quality of hair. One of the best parts about a hair care routine is one does not need to follow too many or confusing steps. Though there are a few rituals one needs to follow but one does need to follow them religiously.

Recommended Ayurvedic Hair Oil:

1. Sesa Hair Oil

 Another important step of a hair care routine is conditioning. It is the process of applying a conditioner to smoothen the hair. It helps to detangle hair and give it that shiny and bouncy look. The main aim of a conditioner is to keep your hair moisturized.

A conditioner should not be applied on the scalp but applies to the roots of the hair. People with dry or normal hair should follow this step. People with oily hair can skip this step but can follow it to maintain the quality and texture of hair. The selection of a good conditioner is as important as the selection of a good shampoo.

  1. Applying Serum

 The serum is a liquid that can also be abbreviated as a 'Leave-in-Conditioner'. It helps to keep your hair soft and shiny. Though many people find it oily but it isn't. Many people also prefer to switch it by oiling but it shouldn't be done. The serum helps one to avoid frizzy hair.

Oil helps one to keep the hair nourished and moisturized. But one also cannot step out of the house with oiled hair. Under such conditions, the serum helps one to control the frizz of the hair without giving it that oily look. It also moisturizes the hair.

  1. Oiling

 The last but one of the most important steps of a hair care routine is oiling. Oiling is essential for all hair types. Though your hair might be dry, normal, or even oily, oil is essential for all hair types. It helps one to strengthen the hair from roots. It is also necessary for grown of hair. Massaging oil in hair helps to improve blood circulation. Hence it is advised to at least oil hair thrice a week.

There are various types of oil to resolve various hair issues. Many people also prefer to prepare various oil combinations at home according to the suitability of hair. Oiling hair and leaving it on for overnight is the best way to improve the ruined or damaged hair texture.

Let’s explore each of the steps above :

  1. Shampooing

 The first and foremost step of a hair care routine is shampoo. Hence it should not be ignored and should be followed carefully. Let us have a look at a few of the healthy and natural remedies to prepare an Ayurvedic shampoo:

  •  Aloe Vera Shampoo

 In a bowl add aloe vera gel, almond oil, reetha infused water, and 1 vitamin capsule to make a thick paste. Apply this paste on your hair for and leave it on for about 4-5 minutes. Then rinse your hair with cold water. This healthy paste gives volume to your hair and adds a natural shine to it. It also helps to strengthen your hair from roots and avoid hair fall.

  •  Apple Cider Vinegar Wash

 In a bowl add 3 cups of water and 1 part of apple cider vinegar. Massage this liquid onto your roots and then wash it off with plain water. ACV helps to easily clean the dirt out from your hair and also helps to build a protective layer around the hair.

 

     2. Conditioning

 The next important step is conditioning. It helps to smooth hair and detangle hair easily. Let us have a look at some of the homemade conditioner remedies which can help one to improve the hair texture:

  •  Coconut Oil Conditioner

 Add coconut oil, honey, lemon juice, curd, and rose water in a bowl. Apply this mixture on your hair and leave it for about 10-15 minutes to allow it to work. Later wash off hair with water. The ingredients in the conditioner help one to keep the hair smooth and soft. It also helps to detangle hair naturally without any side-effects.

  •  Leave-in Conditioner

 A leave-in conditioner or serum can also be abbreviated as another form of conditioner. It also helps one to keep the hair detangled and give it a smooth texture. 

       

       3. Hair Oil

Let's look at a few hair oil remedies which you can prepare at home as well.

  • Amla Hair Oil

 Add amla powder and water in a saucepan and bring it to boil. In another saucepan add the remaining amla powder along with coconut oil and the amla concentrate prepared before. Simmer this mixture until it is half left. Later see this mixture turn yellow and transparent in colour. Once the mixtures turn yellow strain the residue and store it in a bottle. Protect the oil from direct sunlight. Amla also is known as gooseberry is one of the best ingredients for hair. It helps to reduce hair fall and also conditions the hair naturally.

  •  Bhringraj Oil

 Add bhringraj powder and coconut oil in a vessel. Heat the mixture for about 4 to 5 minutes. Add fenugreek seeds to it and heat the mixture again. Once the mixture cools down strain it and stores it in a bottle. Massage this oil gently on the scalp to avoid hair problems and frizzy hair. Bhringraj is one of the healthiest components for hair and a blessing too. It helps to keep the hair strong and maintain the natural black shine of it.
