Should one get Panchakarma for an Ailment?


Ayurveda is one of the oldest tradition, and a secure method to heal internal and external injuries has been practiced in our culture since ages. It has unique features to heal our injuries naturally and with the help of herbal medications. It excludes the use of harmful chemical medications and use of improper components for our body. Ayurveda helps to maintain the balance of our body and helps one to strengthen their immune system. Hence it is not only practiced in India but the whole world.

Is Panchakarma the answer to our ailments?

Panchakarma is a process which is inclusive of any five forms of therapy which helps one to heal their body accordingly. The main aim of Panchakarma is to soothe the injuries caused to one in a natural and herbal manner. It helps one to clear out the toxins from the body without the intake of any harmful medicines. 

Opting Panchakarma as a remedy to heal the injuries is one of the best and natural ways to keep one safe and protected from the external damages. It includes using a set of five therapies accordingly to help an individual recover from internal ailments. It also helps one in gushing out the toxins from the body which may be accumulated within for various reasons. Reasons such as pollution, ill health, improper balance within the body, and various other reasons are responsible for accumulated toxins in the body. 

Panchakarma is inclusive of various therapies such as:

  • Vamanam

  • Aasthaapana or Niruhamin
  • Anuvasan

  1. Vamanam Therapy

Vamanam therapy is a form of eliminating toxins from the body through the process of mouth. In layman’s language, it can also be abbreviated as to compel one to vomit out the waste accumulated within the body. It helps clear out our respiratory and gastrointestinal tract. It is helpful for asthmatic patients, also helpful to reduce weight, also helps one to deal with cough and cold and many other various health issues.


  1. Virechanam Therapy

Virechanam is also practiced to eliminate toxins from the body. It helps one to clear out the waste of the body with the help of the anal route. It is also helpful for our body in various ways, such as keeping our appetite healthy, relieving the problem of constipation, nausea, and many other health problems.


  1. Niruhamin Therapy

Niruhamin therapy is also known as Aasthaapana therapy. It involves inducing herbal liquids or honey into an individual’s body to heal problems like constipation, joint pain, arthritis, and various other health disorders. Hence it is also one of the effective therapies of Panchakarma, which makes it a considerable procedure. 


  1. Anuvasan Therapy

Anuvasan therapy is a form of oil enema. It involves inducing vital herbal liquids into our body through the anal route. It helps one to heal problems like diabetes, joint pain, constipation, and many other problems. The procedure might sound a bit difficult but it is completely safe for an individual. 


  1. Nasyam Therapy

Nasyam therapy involves clearing of toxins from the nasal passage. It involves clearing of mucous with the help of herbal oils dropped into one's nose. The nasal passage is believed to have an opening to our brain; hence maintaining its health is essential.
